Surprises in Store for Newport Folk Festival

The shocker was that the headline acts, Jimmy Buffet and The Black Crowes, seem so far from the Folk Festival tradition.
Dunkin’ Donuts Newport Folk Festival
Posted August 3rd, 2007 by NOL_TimThe Dunkin’ Donuts Newport Folk Festival kicks off tonight with Linda Ronstadt and Mandi Diaz appearing at the Tennis Hall of Fame/Newport Casino. Then the big party moves over to Fort Adams for Saturday and Sunday. The Fort Adams shows start at 11:30 (scheduled to end at 7 pm). You can get more details at the Newport Folk website.
